We want you to make the right decision about how to meet the cost of care for your pet. Since the cost of life-saving or life-extending care for your cat can be very expensive, we urge you to seriously evaluate how you would handle the costs of care should you encounter the need for catastrophic or major veterinary expenses.
Insurance is always simple if you know the
future. Since this is not possible, we think a major medical policy with a
low deductible is the best value. We advise you to keep it simple and know that it
is there for the big-ticket accident or illness items.
The high deductible, well care policies do not
seem to be a good value. As we
started to think about the well care version, we realized there are all sorts
of issues. For example, routine things such as the physical examination, age related
laboratory test and even extensive dental treatments are not covered nor count toward your deductible.
The companies listed below are all good, but
before you buy call them and see if they cover the things you are worried
about such as increased fees as you pet ages, exclusions, and maximum benefits.
